Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Rabbits! I can’t help but think of The Notebook anytime I drive down the Avenue of the Oaks. It is an all-time classic. Fun fact – Mama never let us watch PG-13 movies growing up so I found a way around it to see The Notebook in theaters. I saw it SEVEN times but to my mama I saw “Finding Nemo” seven times lol! I matched the times to when The Notebook was showing. You can say I have been determined from an early age!
Wilson and I met a little over a year ago on the tennis courts. I also got to meet her mom, Jessica. Both are a hoot to be around! I adore both of them! Our friendship blossomed over our love for tennis. I still remember when Wilson and I met at Cantina over dinner and she asked me if I would photograph their wedding. I don’t even think she spit it all the way out before I said YES! I was so excited for her. Grant is her person through and through and I love their story!
Wilson was with her mom at Shem Creek when Grant and Wilson first met. He talked to her mom more than Wilson that night haha. He did manage to walk away with Wilson’s number though! She didn’t text him back and three months later her mom found a mutual friend and tracked him down and messaged him on Facebook. Jessica set up their first date and as Wilson said, the rest is history.
I could swoon over this wedding day forever. I am not sure I have met a more patient bride in this muggy heat we had. It was supposed to be a rainy day and they lucked out with 100% sunshine! Nothing prettier than seeing the sun peeping through the oak trees along the avenue. We started off at Wilson’s church, Eastbridge Presbyterian Church in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina where Wilson’s Papa married them. Ya all, check out this gorgeous floral arrangement that Raleigh put together from Creech’s florist. (Insert floral arch from ceremony)
And kicked off the reception at Boone Hall at the Cotton Dock. Grant’s relationship with his mom is one for the books. They danced to “Mama” by Lunch Money Lewis and you have to listen to it! It was as great as Wendy and Grant’s dance moves! The dance floor was packed until we sent them off with a sparkler exit to happily ever after! #hoppyeverafter
