The Historic Rice Mill is a Magnificent Place for a Wedding

I am so incredibly excited to share Kate and Carson’s wedding with you!

Kate & Carson couldn’t have asked for a more picture perfect day. It started off with Kate and her bridal party at the Courtyard Marriott, and then Carson and his groomsmen got ready at Haberdash. This is a sweet suite to surprise your groom to get ready in if you ask me! [No pun intended!]

We met at St. Luke’s Chapel for their ceremony. After that, we danced the night away at the Historic Rice Mill.

Kate and Carson’s story dates back to 2016 when they were both taking classes in Tuscaloosa, AL. Kate admits to watching Carson leave his lecture twice a week while she waited for hers to start, commenting to her friends about how attractive he was and that whoever got to marry him would be the luckiest girl. Funny how these love stories start, huh?

A year and a half passed when Carson one day followed Kate on Instagram – Kate exclaims she was so excited she threw her phone across the living room! After trying to play it cool for a few days, Kate decided to reach out to Carson with a message saying “I see you’re stalking me” – at the time who knew those words would spark forever! The two exchanged phone numbers and began texting nonstop.

After a few days, Kate didn’t hear from Carson for a short time, which was unlike how things were going. A few days later, Carson reached out to Kate to apologize for not texting her, letting her know his mother had just passed away. Kate’s heart instantly shattered for Carson, and she became a safe place he could run to during this time; a friend.

The following month, Kate and Carson met in person for the first time at a friend’s Christmas party. Shortly after, they parted ways for Christmas break – Carson back to his hometown in Alabama and Kate back to Florida. Carson made an 8 hour trip to visit Kate on Christmas day and met her entire family, all before even dating! The two made their relationship official shortly after on January 6th, 2018.

Fast forward two years to Valentine’s Day of 2018 when Carson proposed to Kate. He took her for a picnic on the beach at Isle of the Palms and proposed in an intimate, unphotographed setting. Kate says she will cherish this moment forever.

This amazing love story brings us to now where I had the honor of photographing their wedding day! They had an absolutely stunning day! Kate made such a classy bride – dawning her Allison Webb wedding dress, and pearls gifted her by Carson for their wedding day.

Carson surprised his aunt with a dance to honor his late mother. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room, and the moment was absolutely beautiful.

Above all, Kate and Carson’s special day was perfect. Congratulations, you two! I wish you nothing but the best!
