I couldn’t believe we woke up to sunshine. Not a cloud in the sky kind of stunning day that every bride dreams of, especially only seeing rain in the forecast even on the day of. It is hurricane season after all. I decided to get ready and head downtown to Francis Marion Hotel, where Haley and Landry were getting ready to surprise them early so we could take some photos downtown. Haley and Landry are from Texas and beyond excited to tie the knot at a Historic Rice Mill Wedding! Side note: Their team won on their wedding day too!
Beautiful Day For a Historic Rice Mill Wedding
From the Bride herself! This is how the two connected.
Haley and Landry met on the Hinge app, and he was the first and only date she ever went on using Hinge! He saw a photo of me and my best friend, Bene, so his first line to me was, “How do you know Bene?” and the rest is history, so we thank Bene for bringing us together!
Long before the magical Historic Rice Mill Wedding, the first date had to happen. The first date was just to get drinks at a Dallas rooftop bar near both of our apartments (mainly for an easy getaway in case it went south, lol) called HG Supply Co. We were both extremely nervous at first but got to talking and learned we had a lot in common and many mutual connections and friends since we were from the same area/college. We ended up bar hopping for hours. By the end of the night, he walked me home like a gentleman. From there, we became pretty much inseparable.
Their Engagement Story
Two and a half years later, Landry asked me to go to dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant. We planned to get drinks before at HG Supply Co (again) since the reservation was a little later in the evening. It was also right across the street from the restaurant. When I got upstairs to the bar, he was in a roped-off area, surrounded by rose petals. He also had the Dallas skyline behind him. I then realized the whole rooftop had their phones out to video because they all knew what was coming haha. Landry proposed, and it was the best moment of my life! The servers brought us champagne, and then we got to go to our dinner later that night.
The next day we went to brunch, and he surprised me with all of our family and friends that had secretly flown into town. It was the most perfect weekend! Little did they know, soon after this night they would be saying “I do” at a Historic Rice Mill wedding!
Historic Rice Mill Wedding
Fast forward, after planning an intimate magical day, the two tied the knot at their Historic Rice Mill Wedding in front of friends and family. The vendors were amazing, and the band had the dance floor hopping all night long. It may have included a throwback game of limbo! Yes, you read that right, and it was a hit! Haley changed into a dress from Lulu’s that she rocked and hit the dance floor. She also took to the stage with her new husband! Cheers Haley and Landry! Thank you for letting me capture such a special day!!
And thank you to the amazing vendors who helped make this big day happen!
